Pyrodigital helps professional show companies build the firing capabilities their fireworks shows and stage productions require. Behind the system is Innovative Pyrotechnik GmbH (IP), a German manufacturer and show company. We develop, manufacture and support the Pyrodigital firing system, combining engineering expertise with the practical experience of producing shows ourselves.
Our clients use the Pyrodigital firing system for productions including the United States’ 250th anniversary celebration in Washington, D.C., Olympic ceremonies in Tokyo and Seoul, Super Bowl shows, New York’s Fourth of July fireworks and Formula 1 events. The system is also used at Tomorrowland and Defqon.1, and for pyrotechnics at Disney and Universal theme parks worldwide. Tour and concert productions using Pyrodigital include performances by The Weeknd, Bruno Mars, BTS, Ed Sheeran, Kendrick Lamar and BLACKPINK.

Long before IP became the company behind Pyrodigital, the system was already the backbone of our own productions. Founded in 1994, we were among the earliest users in Europe of the Pyrodigital system developed in Pebble Beach, California, and we have used it in every fireworks display and stage show we have delivered since.
Over time, our relationship with Pyrodigital grew beyond show production and into engineering. In 2016, we presented our work on the FM-A Firing Module to Pyrodigital founder Ken Nixon, building on a relationship that had already developed over many years. The project reinforced his confidence in our engineering team, and when he prepared to retire, he offered us the opportunity to take over the company. We acquired Pyrodigital in 2017, bringing more than two decades of hands-on operating experience into its continued development.

Our own touring and stage work includes productions for AC/DC, The Rolling Stones, Backstreet Boys, KISS, Tina Turner and Nickelback. In musical theatre, our work includes productions of The Phantom of the Opera, Disney’s Aladdin and Rebecca. Our large-scale fireworks work spans major productions across Europe and international competitions. IP has won first prizes in Shanghai, Tokyo, Madeira and San Sebastián, and at Flammende Sterne near Stuttgart. Our competition record also includes Silver and Bronze Jupiter awards in Montreal and further podium finishes in Cannes. Our co-founder and Managing Partner & Director, Joachim Berner, also designed two Gold Jupiter-winning displays at Montreal’s international fireworks competition, one of the world’s most prestigious.
