Test Light
An electric match that lights up instead of going bang: for proving a script, proving a module, or training a crew.
At a Glance
A test light plugs into a firing module terminal in place of an electric match. Send a fire command to that address and the light comes on, so you can see the cue happen.
Operational Role
A test light does one job: it takes the place of an electric match. Plug it into a terminal on a firing module, send a fire command to that address, and the light comes on. No smoke, no bang, nothing consumed; just a clear, visible answer that the cue did what it was told to do.
That answer is worth having in three different situations. The first is the script: run the show against lights and you can watch whether the cues fire in the order and at the times you designed, before any of it matters. The second is the hardware: if a module is suspect, a light on its terminals tells you plainly whether it fires when it is commanded. The third is training. A new operator can be taken through a whole show, arming, checking, firing, with a bench of lights instead of a case of single-use electric matches, which makes practice something affordable to repeat.
